You can only pay yourself if you have requested the change. If your landlord questions you a change you didn`t ask for, you can ask for the money or report it to trading standards. If your tenancy was started or renewed on or after March 20, 2019, your landlord may also have a legal responsibility to ensure your home is viable. This is called the “form for human colonization.” In this type of agreement, a tenant pays a non-refundable option fee in exchange for the option to buy the house at a predetermined price.
